“Visa-free” is not the same as “permission for anything”
Visa-free typically describes:
- the ability to enter without a visa sticker
- for a specific purpose (often tourism)
- for a maximum duration
It does not automatically grant work permission, residency rights, or multiple-entry privileges.
Duration is rarely the only condition
Even when a duration is stated, entry can depend on:
- proof of onward travel
- financial means
- purpose clarity
- passport validity
Why this matters for solo travelers
Solo travelers often face more direct questioning at borders because they do not have a shared itinerary or companion context.
